You can also Save scum for things like gambling, deaths, etc. This doesn't work with identifying items but does for things like cubing for sockets. This causes the game to exit and resync your last cloud save (that happens when you force quit an application). (Save scum is when you go to manage game and delete your reserved save data BTW, WHILE the game is booted up. If he doesn't drop something worthwhile you can savescum and retry. For example, if you are on Normal/NM baal you can get to waystone, save and exit game completely, kill baal. The first kill (quest kill) of bosses have increased loot. If you can swallow your pride use save scumming to your advantage! (I can't, but I did when my controller randomly died, and I lost my 87 Zon).

Just an update for any offline players that might not have been reading everything here, or a few tips I guess for latecomers. Mara's Kaleidoscope is a perfect example of an item worth savescumming to get a better version. There's also a few items that can benefit greatly from that. If I could savescum the identify part until I could get a nice pally one, this process would be a lot better. It has shit stats, but I could not get myself to keep killing those three again. I had to save scum and run ubbers 11 times to get my first pally torch. This would be REALLY interesting for a torch.

I havent been able to test the torch yet (if class specific skills can change).Did you confirm the stats are rolled on identify? I was always under the impression everything was determined on drop, identifying the item was just showing those stats to you.

The items are predetermined, which means that only the stats can change, not the type. Baal runs have been my go to up to 95, but now it is really slowing down so trying to add Diablo and Nihl, although the latter is a bit risky in my case.ĮDIT: I was able to confirm the first part of my question. If it works, it could be done with the torch as well if you need a class specific +3 skills and didnt get it on the first try. Are these rings predetermined upon finding them or are they calculated when identifying? For example, has anyone tried to identify an item (a ring in this case), didnt like it, and then save scummed to receive a different type, i.e Stone of Jordan on the second try versus a Manald heal on the first. I currently have a couple of unidentified unique rings. A question regarding Item identification and save scumming.
